Category Types Overview

What: The Assets feature includes many asset fields allowing you to add all of your pertinent asset information. Tenna defines the types of assets you are adding via a Category Type, which dictates the relevant fields for each asset, as well as certain tabs that will appear on that asset's asset details tab (when the asset's tracker is online and verified).

Category types include:

  • Equipment
  • Vehicles
  • Trucks
  • Tools
  • Material
  • Attachments
  • Consumables

Every Major Category created under Settings must be tied to one of these seven category types.

The compatibility of each dependent asset field as it relates to a category type is shown in this article for owned and rental assets. Other asset fields not listed on this table are common across all asset types.

Who: Power Users and users with permission to add assets should be familiar with how category types work.
