How to Clear Cache

Clearing your cache removes outdated stored files that can cause pages to load or display incorrectly, and is often the fastest first step to resolve an issue.

Clearing Cache in Google Chrome

Open Chrome and click the "⋮" icon in the upper right corner.

Select "Delete Browsing Data".

Pro Tip! Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete       on Windows or Command + Shift + Delete       on Mac to open the "Delete Browsing Data" window directly.

Select a range from the "Time range" menu. Select "All time" to clear all cached data.

Check the "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files" boxes.

Click "Delete from this device".

Close and reopen Chrome for the changes to take effect.

Clearing Cache in Microsoft Edge

Open Edge and click the "⋮" icon in the upper right corner.

Select "Delete Browsing Data".

Select a range from the "Time range" menu. Select "All time" to clear all cached data.

Check the "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files" boxes.

Click "Clear now".

Close and reopen Chrome for the changes to take effect.

Clearing Cache in Mozilla Firefox

Open Firefox and click the "☰" icon in the upper right corner.

Select "Settings".

In the "Privacy and Security" section, click "Clear Browsing Data".

Pro Tip! Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete   on Windows or Command + Shift + Delete   on Mac to open the clear data window directly.

Select "Everything" from the "When" menu.

Check the "Temporary cached files and pages" box. This box is labeled "Cached Web Content" in older versions.

Click "Clear".

Close and reopen Firefox for the changes to take effect.

Clearing Cache in Safari

Open Safari and click "Safari" in the menu bar.

Select "Settings".

Click the "Advanced" tab.

Check the "Show features for web developers" box. This box is labeled "Show Develop menu in menu bar" in older macOS versions.

Close "Settings".

In the menu bar, click "Develop", then select "Empty Caches".

Pro Tip! Once the "Develop" menu is enabled, press Option + Command + E   to empty the caches directly.

Close and reopen Safari for the changes to take effect.
