SMS Dispatch Messages Overview

💥SMS Dispatch Messages is part of a premium product, Resource Management, and requires a separate license. Please contact your Account Manager for more information on premium product licenses or reach out to Customer Support at [email protected] or call 888.836.6269.

SMS messages are specific to dispatch notifications and are sent when a dispatch event is either sent or resent. The SMS messages are sent from a third party provider to selected users to notify of the dispatch.

Important: Tenna is not responsible for any parties who choose to block SMS messaging from the third party service by texting "Stop". Once a user replies with the word "Stop", all texts sent will be blocked until until either "Unstop" or "Start" is sent to the third party number.

When a dispatch is sent in the Tenna platform, it triggers the SMS messages to be sent to the selected user(s) to inform them of the dispatch. The message(s) is divided into segments that display no more than 950 characters. The splitting of these messages is done by the third party messaging service. The third party service checks the message limit based on previous data versus the new number of segments to be sent out. If the limit is exceeded, an error message will be sent as well as an event to notify the CSM. If the limit is not exceeded, the segments are sent to the selected user(s) to notify them of the dispatch.

Note: Any individuals you are sending an SMS message to must be listed as a user with a cell phone number within the Tenna platform.

SMS Messages can be purchased by tier which provides an allotted number of messages per month. The tiers are as follows:

  • SMS Dispatch - 1000 (1,000 messages)
  • SMS Dispatch - 5000 (5,000 messages)
  • SMS Dispatch - 20000 (20,000 messages)

Each SMS message is broken down into about 5 segments. The split messages display 160 characters within each segment. The breakdown of these messages may split messages in the middle of a word.
