How to Update Current Miles (Desktop)
Tenna tracks Current Miles for Category Types: Truck and Vehicles with an installed and verified tracker. This data is useful for understanding current status, reporting, and triggering automatic preventative maintenance. Assets with the following trackers will report hours and/or idle hours, provided the tracker is installed, verified and online:
- TennaCANbus
- TennaFLEET Tracker OBD II
- TennaFLEET Tracker JBUS
- TennaFLEET II (with or without TennaCAM or TennaCAM 2.0)
Permission Requirements: Users with the "Edit/Update Asset" permission and "Miles" permissions can manually update Current Miles.
NOTE: These instructions are for manually updating Current Miles after the tracker has been installed and verified. For more information about choosing the source of Current Miles during Installation and Verification, view Current Miles Overview and FAQ.

Which assets can have their Current Miles manually updated?
Any asset with Miles tracking enabled can manually update Current Miles. A user might update their Current Miles during:
- Tracker Installation
- Tracker Verification
- A user has elected to Ignore ECU Odometer due to a discrepancy
- OR the vehicle’s ECU does not report an odometer value to the tracker (due to unique make/model or older year). You can view the status of “ECU Odometer Provided” in Asset Details.
For more information on how mileage is updated, view Current Miles Overview and FAQ.
NOTE: TennaFLEET II, TennaCAM 2.0, and TennaCANbus are the only trackers that support ECU reporting.

How to Update Current Miles
- 1
- Search for the asset you want to update and go to the Asset Details page.
- 2
- Click "Edit Asset" on the top left.
- 3
- Scroll down to the "Miles" section.
NOTE: Current Miles can only be edited if the Ignore ECU Odometer has been enabled or if the ECU Odometer is not provided by your vehicle (ECU Odometer Provided is “No”) in Asset Details. View Current Miles Overview and FAQ for more information.
- 4
- If applicable, click "Ignore ECU Odometer".
Pro Tip! This option should only be used if the Current Miles value reported in Tenna is significantly different than the vehicle’s odometer value as seen on the dashboard.
The “Ignore ECU Odometer” checkbox will only be visible if the vehicle’s ECU does provide odometer data to the installed/verified tracker and has reported at least one trip.
- 5
- Enter a value for the Current Miles.
Update Current Miles to be an accurate baseline odometer value for the vehicle.
Your Current Miles will now reflect the Baseline you just entered + miles from any subsequent future trips as reported by the tracker.
Important! If Ignore ECU Odometer is ever unchecked, the mileage value reported from the ECU odometer will override the baseline Current Miles value you submitted.
- 6
- Scroll down and click "Update Asset" on the bottom right.
