How to Create a Custom Video Request

A Custom Video Request can be used when the need for a non-event related video clip is required. This function sends the request to the vehicle or vehicles specified. When network connectivity is available, the vehicle will then upload the requested video to the Event Clips & Cloud Storage page for viewing or download.

1

Select an Asset to navigate to the Asset Details page.

2

Select the Trips tab.

Toggle to Grid View.

3

Select the "eye" icon to select a specific trip.

4

Scroll down to below the Map and select "Request Video Event".

5

A modal will open allowing you to select a time from within the trip and the Video Duration.

The Request Start Date must be within the Trip range (between Trip Start and Trip End).

The Request Start Time must be within your Trip range + 1 hour.

Once completed, select “Request Video.”

6

Wait to view your custom video.

The request will appear in the grid. Once the camera comes online and has sufficient cellular service the video will download and appear in the Video grid.

7

Once ready, view your custom video.

The video can be viewed under the Trip Details > Video tab.

The video can also be viewed under Asset Details > Safety and Compliance > Safety Camera tab.

What are Flagged Events?

The Flagged Events tab will show all events that you have “flagged” by selecting the star icon in the Event Actions. This is simply a way to save events and footage that you would like to quickly access or revisit.

Flagged Events can be viewed in Grid View or List View and exported into a spreadsheet.

What is the Quarantine Page?

The Quarantine page captures events that are being excessively generated by the camera. This accomplishes multiple things:

  • Saves time by keeping your Daily Events page clear of noisy and unimportant events so you can focus on more valuable events.
  • Saves data from being wasted and consumed on excessive event video uploads.
  • Saves money by preventing unnecessary video uploads from using data which can cause the data allowance to be used up in a short time as well as potential data overage costs.

How the Quarantine Page works

When an event meets our definition of excessive and is placed into quarantine, the following occurs:

  • Event video and snapshots are NOT requested for that event, even if that event type has video/snapshot enabled.
  • The event is placed into the Quarantine page

Quarantine Page Actions

From the Quarantine Page, you can:

  • View Trip – Open Route History and see exactly when the event(s) occurred during the trip.
  • Add Notes to the event
  • Request Video – Will request video footage for that event and move the event to the Daily Events page for the date the event occurred.
