Daily Utilization By Site Report (Desktop)

What: The purpose of the Daily Asset Utilization by Site Report is to group daily utilization for each asset by the site they are located on. This report is used over the Project Utilization Report when you want to see this information broken down on a daily basis.

Trackers: Assets with engines will pull into this report for the time period selected, provided the tracker is installed, verified and online.

Typical trackers for those assets include:

  • TennaFLEETTracker OBD II
  • TennaFLEETTracker JBUS
  • TennaFLEETTrackerII
  • TennaMINIPlug-In
  • TennaMINIPlug-In Solar
  • TennaMINI2.0 Plug-in Solar
  • TennaINAEMP(John Deere, Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, United Rentals)(toggle)
  • TennaCANbus

Data from the Daily Asset Utilization by Site Report is paginated to increase loading speed and can be exported as “All Results” or “Only Displayed” (i.e., only displayed on that page). Each page displays 100 Assets. The default display is sorted numerically by the Site number / Site Name in ascending order. Asset history per site group is sorted by Asset Name A-Z.

Who: All users can access this report. It is not tied to a permission. This report is part of TennaCORE and is not tied to a premium product license.

Note: If Data Access Controls is enabled on your account, users will only see the assets to which they have access when viewing this report.

Where: The Daily Asset Utilization by Site report is organized within the Performance reports and is accessible via Reports on the left nav, under the Performance category or via the Reports drop down shortcut at the top of the screen under Performance.

When: The default range for viewing this report is One Week ago through Today. Quick date range options include Today, Yesterday, Previous Week and Previous Month.

Results are shown for the account time zone. You can select a max date range of 31days’ worth of results (note: Tenna will expand this range in the future) and can search back to the beginning of your account's history to capture each asset’s lifespan on Tenna. Assets will appear under every site that it had utilization for during the time frame selected for the report. An asset could appear under multiple different sites if it worked on several during the reporting period.

  • The parent rows of this report are organized by Sites and display the asset count for each site group.
    • Assets will appear under every site it was utilized on during the time frame selected for the report. An asset could appear under multiple different sites if it worked on several during the reporting period.
  • Date Range Columns: Date columns are shown as one column per day based on the date range and options selected for the report (i.e., all days or “View weekdays only” or “View workdays only”). The value in each row of these columns is the active hours recorded for the asset when run on that site.
    • Utilization data for each day represents utilization recorded for that asset based on the given calendar day in the account time zone.
    • Results in Red indicate the low utilization threshold for that asset on that day per the account configuration which indicates the percentage below which an asset is considered underutilized.
    • If “View Weekdays only” and/or “View Workdays only” are checked, those days will be removed as columns.
    • If “View Weekdays only” and/or “View Workdays only” are NOT checked, those days will be shown as columns.
      • A result of “0” indicates a holiday or a non-workday.
      • A result of “N/A” indicates an asset did not run and does not report any utilization work hours but is expected to as it’s a workday.

Example: Utilization data for Monday April 24th shows the active hours the asset reported within the calendar day (12:00am – 11:59pm) in the account time zone.

  • Total Column: Shows the total of all hours calculated for that asset on that site for the selected time period.

Daily Asset Utilization by Site Report FAQs

  1. What assets typically appear in this report?

While Tenna allows for assets without engines to have utilization hours added manually (link to article in App), only assets with engines pull into the Daily Utilization by Site Report.

  1. What is the difference between the Daily Asset Utilization by Site Report vs. the Project Utilization Report?

If you need our asset utilization broken down daily, use the Daily Asset Utilization by Site report vs Project Utilization Report which is based on pre-defined timeframes which are less flexible. Tenna built the Daily Asset Utilization by Site report to allow you to pick your range and get data for individual days.

  1. Why do I sometimes see more than 24 hours’ worth of asset utilization activity on a given day on the Daily Asset Utilization by Site Report?

Although this is not common, it is possible for a machine to report more than 24 hours of activity in a day based on when/how the data is received. Possible reasons and causes include:

    1. Manual hours updates: Users may manually update hours to “catch up” the machine hours, resulting in greater than 24 hours for the reporting period.
    2. OEM hours from AEMP Integration: Similar to manual hours updates, OEMs may “catch up” hours such as in the event the OEM telematics were faulty or not reporting accurately for a few days and suddenly sends the correct utilization hours in one push, resulting in greater than 24 hours for the reporting period.
    3. Store and forward on Tenna trackers with ECU Hours (CANbus): if a machine is temporarily out of service and Tenna does not receive messages, but then receives data with updated ECU hours, it may result in greater than 24 hours on the asset for the reporting period.
