IFTA Reports by Vehicle, Jurisdiction, and Fuel Type (Desktop)
IFTA (International Fuel Tax Agreement) Reports are available by Vehicle, by Jurisdiction, by Fuel Type, and Asset IFTA Activity Detail. Assets that are selected as IFTA compliant will pull into these reports. This article details the various data points available in the IFTA reports, how to access the reports, and frequently asked questions.
NOTE: These reports are not tracker based. Assets must be configured as IFTA-Compliant to pull into the IFTA reports. This can be accomplished when adding or editing an asset, under the Fuel section of the Add Asset page or Edit Asset page within Asset Details, which is available for assets categorized as a Heavy Truck or Vehicle.
See How to Configure IFTA for your Assets (Desktop) for more information.
Permission Requirements: Users with the Fuel Reports and Details permission enabled can view all IFTA reports.
đź’Ą IFTA is a premium product and requires a separate license. Please contact your Account Manager for more information on premium product licenses or reach out to Customer Support at help@tenna.com or call 888.836.6269.

How to View IFTA Reports
There are two ways to easily access these reports:
- 1a
- Click Reports, then All Reports in the left side navigation.

- 2a
- Scroll down to the Fuel section and select one of the IFTA reports by clicking the "eye" icon under the Actions column.

- 1b
- Or, click Reports in the top global navigation menu, then select Fuel, then one of the IFTA Reports.

NOTE: Scroll down to find the Asset IFTA Activity Detail Report.
Organize the report for your needs
Search, sort, filter, choose settings, and add/remove/re-order columns to organize the report for your needs.

Pro Tip! The default range for viewing the IFTA Reports is the current quarter. In this instance, an “In Progress” watermark will appear on the report, as the quarter is still in progress. Adjusting your date range to the previous quarter will show a completed report without the "In Progress" note. Choosing a future date range will display a “Not Started” watermark.
A max date range of 365 days’ worth of results can be selected, however, the report will only search back to the time when the IFTA license was enabled on your account and assets were configured for IFTA. Results are shown for the account time zone.

NOTE: The “Include IFTA Miles & Non-IFTA Miles only for assets that crossed state lines” checkbox is available for personal preference. If you want to know which trucks crossed state lines (what needs to be reported per IFTA mandate requirements), checking this box will filter out any IFTA-enabled assets that reported trips but did not cross a state line.
Save or Export the report

Important! IFTA mileage is calculated using GPS ping data from trackers combined with road-snapping function, which maps your assets' travel to actual roads to best approximate the miles driven for tax reporting purposes.
Because of this, its normal to see a variance up to +/- 10% between IFTA tax miles and tracker-reported mileage. This is expected and acceptable, this approach ensures mileage is accurately attributed to the correct jurisdictions to meet the requirements for IFTA compliance.
IFTA Report FAQs
Why are assets missing from my IFTA Report?
Confirm if the checkbox for "Include IFTA Miles & Non-IFTA Miles only for assets that crossed state lines" has been selected. This can be found under the date picker drop down at the top of the report. When this checkbox is marked, IFTA-enabled assets that did not cross state lines will not appear in the results. Also, confirm the assets have been configured as IFTA-Compliant. If they are not configured, the assets will not pull into the IFTA reports. See How to Configure IFTA for your Assets for more information.
If an asset is not configured for IFTA, can I still get historical IFTA miles information?
Contact your Tenna Account Manager about your options in this case.
Can I include as many assets as I want under IFTA?
Yes, there is no limit to the number of assets that you mark as IFTA compliant.
