Important Notes
The following are IMPORTANT notes to review before getting started with Gorilla ELD.
- Ensure your tracker has been pre-configured by Tenna to support ELD (TennaCANbus + ELD or TennaFLEET + ELD). The tracker should be installed and active in the vehicle before following these instructions.
- Ensure that there are no other tracker/camera installations present on the chosen asset, as these may conflict with the new ELD tracker installation. Uninstall existing trackers as necessary prior to proceeding.
- Ensure that your Gorilla Portal account administrator has pre-configured your user account with your settings. Have your login credentials handy for this installation. Contact Gorilla Support at (844) 636-1360 from 7am to 7pm CST with questions.
- A single tablet or mobile phone should be used for ELD and remain in the vehicle. For Bluetooth connectivity reasons, personal devices should not be used for ELD.
- Only one ELD session can be active in a vehicle at a time. Only the active driver can be running Gorilla Safety actively paired to the Tenna tracker in the vehicle.
- Each Gorilla Safety ELD user should have their own login. It is recommended that each driver logs in to the vehicle’s dedicated device before driving and logs out when finished.

Follow the steps in the Troubleshooting section below.
Troubleshooting
- 1
- Go to the Settings menu in the Gorilla Safety App.
If not connected, tap "ELD Disconnected" in the middle of the screen, or tap "More" on the bottom right of the screen to open the Settings menu.
- 2
- Tap "Scan" on the bottom right of the screen.
- 3
- Select the Tenna ELD device.
The Tenna device will have a unique identifier that starts with WQ, followed by the serial number (WQ-SN) to easily recognize the device.
The following issues may arrive at this step:
I cannot find the device (or any devices) when I select Scan.
- Make sure that the asset's ignition is ON.
- Make sure that you and your mobile device are close by to the Tenna tracker.
- Fully close the Gorilla Safety App on your mobile device. Then, open the app again and try tapping "Scan" again.
- If another ELD user is already connected to the device, you will not be able to find it. Ask any other users to disconnect from the device.
- Make sure that the Tenna tracker has been installed properly.
NOTE: If you have the newest version of the Gorilla Safety App and Truck Binding is enabled, you will only see scan results for the device associated with the vehicle. Vehicle assignment can be verified by clicking on the user initials from the top right corner of the Main page.
A mobile device is already connected to the Tenna tracker, but we cannot find the device or know who it is to disconnect them.
- Check the vehicle to make sure no mobile devices have been left inside.
- Try driving the vehicle to a different location. Other Bluetooth devices should disconnect after out of range (several hundred feet).
I am trying to disconnect another device, so I can connect, but it keeps re-connecting.
- Turn off Bluetooth on the device so you can connect. After you are connected on the new device, turn Bluetooth back on the other device.
- Logout of the Gorilla Safety app on the other device
- Close the app fully on the other device
- On the other device, click Scan from the Settings screen, but do not select any device. Click Save. Go back to the Main screen and verify ELD Disconnected.
I get the following error screen and when I Scan, I cannot find any devices.
- Make sure you are assigned to the correct vehicle and not a different vehicle. If so, please assign the correct vehicle.
- Logout of the Gorilla Safety app, then close the app fully. Open the app and try the scan again.
- Make sure the Tenna device is correctly installed, and the ignition is ON.
- 4
- Tap Save in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
- 5
- The app home screen will show that ELD is connected.
I've tried everything, but I am still having issues.
