How to Verify a Tracker (Tracker Verification Report) (Desktop)

The Tracker Verification Report shows all trackers that have not completed the verification process.

Tracker Verification allows you to ensure each tracker is functioning properly at the time of installation, so you know data is flowing accurately from the tracker to the associated asset data files in your Tenna account. A user must verify a tracker before it can be considered "online" and begin reporting data. All trackers, except QR tags and labels, must be verified after installation.

Permission Requirements:

Any user with the Tracker Installation Verification permission can verify trackers after they were installed on assets.

NOTE: If Data Access Control is enabled, users will only be able to verify trackers for assets that they have data access to. See Data Access Control Overview for more details.

NOTE: Tracker Verification is only available for Tenna Trackers. Assets that have OEM Telematics and Tenna Integrations are not eligible.

  • Tracker Type: official Tenna tracker type (TennaFLEET, TennaBLE, etc.)
  • GPS Lock: If the tracker has a lat, long value in this column, it means it has established a solid connection with multiple GPS satellites and is able to accurately determine it’s location. The lat, long value is the coordinates from that connection. This field will show N/A if there are not enough satellites visible.

  • Turn the asset OFF.
  • Then, refresh the Tracker Verification page and check for the eye icon in the Actions column.

Possible Cause: The tracker has been idle or in hibernation for a long period of time.

Solution(s):

  • Move the tracker to an area with good sky visibility and give a gentle shake to "wake" the tracker.
