Asset Hours Report (Desktop)

What: The purpose of the Asset Hours report is to reflect the cumulative hours on each heavy truck or equipment asset (with an engine) as of current or past dates.

Trackers: Assets categorized as a Heavy Truck or Heavy Equipment with the following trackers will pull into this report for the time period selected, provided the tracker is installed, verified and online and they completed at least one cycle during that period.

Those assets are typically tracked with any of the following trackers:

  • TennaFLEETTracker JBUS
  • TennaFLEETTrackerII
  • TennaMINI2.0
  • TennaMINIPlug-In
  • TennaMINIPlug-In Solar
  • TennaMINISolar
  • TennaCAM2.0(paired with TennaFLEETTracker II)
  • TennaINAEMP
  • TennaCANbus

Data from the Asset Hours report is paginated (results displayed across multiple pages to speed up loading time) and can be exported as “All Results” or “Only Displayed” (i.e., only displayed on that page). Each page displays 100 Assets. The default display is sorted by the “Hours as of Now” column in descending order.

Who: All users with the Asset Hours permission turned ON can see the Asset Hours report. This report is a part of the TennaCORE product suite (i.e., not tied to a premium product).

Note: If Data Access Controls is enabled on your account, users will only see the assets to which they have access when viewing this report.

Where: The Hours report is organized within the Asset Performance reports and is accessible via Reports on the left nav, under the Asset Performance category or via the Reports drop down shortcut at the top of the screen under Performance.

When: The default range for viewing the Hours report is as/of today. If running a report for the current day, results will be shown for cycles completed up to the current time (provided the cycle has ended and has been processed in Tenna). For reports run for past dates, results will be shown for the end of that day for the account time zone. The quick date range options are Today, Yesterday, Previous Week, Previous Month. You can select a max date range of 45 days’ worth of results and can search back to the beginning of your account's history to capture each asset’s lifespan on Tenna.

  • Major Category: Results in the Asset Hours report are driven by an asset’s category type. Assets categorized as a Heavy Truck, Heavy Equipment or Mid Sized or Small equipment (with engines and verified trackers) will pull into the Asset Hours Report if they were active assets that had cycle activity during the time period the report is run for (i.e., reports run for Today – default – will display results for all heavy trucks or pieces of equipment in your fleet. If you run a report for a date in the past, the report will display all trucks and equipment in your fleet at that time. If you added a new asset yesterday, but ran a report for last week, the new asset would be excluded because it had no reported data).
    • The Asset Category column group is collapsed by default. If expanded, columns will be shown for Subcategory 1, Subcategory 2 and Subcategory 3.
  • Fleet Number: Asset identifier. This entry is a hyperlink to the Asset’s Details. Hovering over the link will show a popover with the asset’s image (if there is one). The eye icon on this popover will also take you to the Asset’s Details.
    • The Asset Details column group is collapsed by default. If expanded, additional columns will be shown for Status, Year, Make, Model and Org Level.

  • Hours as of Now: The current hours on the asset at the report date time (today as of the time the report was run, or end of day for a specific date in the past in the account time zone).

Note: If a report is run for today (now) and an asset is current running (live), those hours will not be incorporated into the report. Hours are posted to the asset after the cycle has ended and is processed (ignition: off).

Pro Tip: This report is best used for larger periods of time and is helpful to run at the end of a quarter for big picture data.

  • Tracker Type: The tracker currently installed on the asset. This entry is a hyperlink to the Tracker Details page. Hovering over the tracker name shows a popover with the tracker type, photo and whether it is on or offline. Values can be any of the following: TennaFLEET Tracker JBUS, TennaFLEET Tracker II, TennaMINI Plug-In, TennaMINI Plug-In Solar, TennaMINI 2.0, TennaIN AEMP, TennaCANbus.

Site: The current site the asset is located on, if a site is known (i.e., if an asset is located within a site geofence). It does not show historic site assignment if the report is run for a past date. This entry is a hyperlink to the Site Details. Hovering over the hyperlink will show a popover of the site allowing you to view the site on the map or navigate to Site Details.

    • Site Details are collapsed by default but when expanded also include the Site Address column.

Asset Hours Report FAQs

  1. How do I get the number of hours accumulated in a particular date range (quarter, week, etc.)?

The number of hours accumulated in a particular date range is not displayed in this report. You can obtain that information from the Cycles report by summing up the hour values of all the cycles for the selected date range, or, if you have the premium Asset Activity license, you can find this data in the Travel Summary report.
