Tracker Preventative Maintenance Checklist

Preventative maintenance is key to keeping Tenna’s trackers performing their best. The schedule below gives recommendations for maintenance procedures that will help prevent issues with your trackers and ensure that you are receiving correct data.

Pro Tip! Complete these tasks during your regularly scheduled maintenance service or every 3 months.

TennaBLE

All TennaBLE trackers

  • Clean BLE Beacon
  • Check BLE Beacon for damage Verify BLE Beacon is secure
  • Check welds on Steel Puck (verify there are no cracks)
  • While standing at the asset, with Tenna App open, verify that the location is updating correctly and the timestamp is correct

TennaCAM 2.0

Fleet and Heavy Equipment

  • With Tenna App open, verify tracker status is “online”
  • With Tenna App open, verify location is updating correctly
  • Take asset on test trip or idle outside of the shop to verify asset shows “live”
  • Verify LED light on camera is solid green
  • Verify Y-cable is secure and not hanging under dash/kick panel
  • Press driver event button and listen for chime (this will create a test video)
  • Verify camera wire harness is not damage or tampered with, is secure, and not hanging in driver’s field of view
  • Check front and rear facing camera angles on asset page to confirm proper alignment of camera views
  • Check Parking Mode operation. The green light on the camera should stay on for 1 hour after ignition is turned off.

TennaCANbus

  • With Tenna App open, verify tracker status is “online”
  • With Tenna App open, verify location is updating correctly
  • Take asset on test trip, or idle outside of the shop, to verify asset shows “live”
  • Verify mileage and hours match values in Tenna (adjust if necessary)
  • Verify harness and adapter are secure and not hanging under dash/kick panel
  • Check tracker’s harness positive and negative battery connections to ensure they are clean and tight
  • If external PTO is being used, verify that the PTO wire is secure and not hanging

TennaFLEET

  • With Tenna App open, verify tracker status is “online”
  • With Tenna App open, verify location is updating correctly
  • Take asset on test trip, or idle outside of the shop, to verify asset shows “live”
  • Verify mileage and hours match values in Tenna (adjust if necessary)
  • Verify Y-cable is secure and not hanging under dash/kick panel. Replace any missing plastic ties.

TennaINTEL P1 | TennaMINI 2.0 Plug-In Solar

  • With Tenna App open, verify tracker status is “online”​
  • With Tenna App open, verify hours match value (Note: If hours are off by +/- 5%, diagnose the tracker)
  • With Tenna App open, verify location is updating correctly​
  • Verify tracker is secure and not damaged​
  • Verify wiring is not damaged or tampered with, secure, and in good condition​
  • Run a 10-15 minute test cycle to verify unit shows “running” and shuts off when cycle ends
  • Verify tracker and solar panel is clean and free of any obstructions.​

TennaINTEL S1 | TennaMINI Battery or Solar

  • With Tenna App open, verify tracker status is “online”
  • With Tenna App open, verify location is updating correctly
  • Verify timestamp is correct in Tenna
  • Clean tracker
  • Verify tracker and/or solar panel is secure and not damaged

TennaQR​

  • Clean QR Tag​
  • Check QR Tag for damage Verify QR Tag is secure Scan QR Tag​
  • While standing at the asset, with Tenna App open, verify that the location is updating correctly and the timestamp is correct
