Warnings and Important Notices

  • Ensure that all cables/wires are secured away from moving parts, to prevent damage or disconnection.
  • Use heat shrink tubing to protect any unused wire uninsulated ends.
  • When running video cables from the exterior of the vehicle to the interior take notice of any door hinges pinch points or rough edges and move and protect them as needed. Cuts/pinched cables can result in no video feed.
  • Only tighten video cable connections by hand. Using pliers and over tightening could cause damage two connectors.
  • Always slide weatherproof boots that are provided on the video cable over the connections for added weather protection.
  • Request permission from management prior to drilling into the asset. VHB tape is recommended for mounting to the top of asset cabs.
  • Temporarily mount side cameras with VHB tape to make sure the camera is pointed in the right direction to preview your video feed before drilling any holes.

Installation Instructions: TennaCAM 2.0 Auxiliary Camera

Step 1. Determine a good location to install the TennaCAM 2.0 Auxiliary Camera.

  1. Ensure you have enough extension cable to reach.

Step 2. Identify an access point to run the harness from inside of the cab to the exterior determined installation location.

  1. If no access point is found, drill a 5/8” hole and use the provided rubber grommet to make the hole watertight.
  2. Do not run the cables through the hole yet.

IMPORTANT! Ensure you will not drill through important asset lines, like air conditioning, electrical components, etc.

Step 3. Connect the TennaCAM 2.0 Auxiliary Camera to the TennaCAM 2.0.

  1. Remove the security panel on the right side of the TennaCAM 2.0 (if not already removed) using the provided T8 wrench. Discard the old security panel.
  2. Insert the end of the DV676 Harness into the clip of the new, provided security cover (DV608).

  1. Attach the new security cover (DV608) to the side of the TennaCAM 2.0, carefully plugging in the DV676 Harness into the Auxiliary Camera port, and routing the power cable through the space on the security cover.

IMPORTANT! Make sure to observe proper connector polarity and do not force the connector into the socket.

  1. Secure the security cover (DV608) using the provided T8 screws.

Step 4. Connect and mount the DV607 Converter Box.

  1. Run the DV676 Harness under the asset’s headliner/molding to the provided DV607 Converter Box and plug it in.

  1. Mount the DV607 Converter Box under the dashboard or on the rear wall of the cab, so that it is out of the way, will not be tampered with, and is protected from the weather. There are two suggested mounting methods:
    1. VHB Tape: If the surface allows, use VHB tape to mount the converter box after thoroughly cleaning the surface. Press firmly and hold to ensure proper adhesion.
      1. Note: VHB tape should only be installed on surfaces with a temperature of at least 50°F.
    2. Screw Mount: Utilize the screw mounting extensions at each side of the converter box to mount using two screws (not provided).

Step 5. Connect to battery, power and ground sources.

  1. Connect the power and ground of the DV607PHAR Power Harness to the center port of the DV607 Converter Box.

  1. Ensure that there is a 5-amp fuse installed in the provided inline fuse holder of the red wire on the DV607PHAR Power Harness. If one is not provided, install a 5-amp fuse.

  1. Connect the red wire (marked “BATTERY”) of the DV607PHAR Power Harness to the white wire (marked “+5V PWR to DV607) on the SWI6027 Relay Kit.

  1. Identify a good, clean, shiny ground source. Connect the black ground wire of the DV607PHAR Power Harness to the identified source.

  1. Connect the SWI6027 Relay Kit to the two breakout wires (red and black) of the DV676 Harness.

  1. Install a 5-amp add-a-fuse or inline fuse to the red wire (marked “12V VEH BATT”) of the SWI6027 Relay Kit.
  2. Connect the red wire (marked “12V VEH BATT”) of the SWI6027 Relay Kit to a good constant battery source.

WARNING: TennaCAM 2.0 Auxiliary Cameras is only 12V capable. Do not connect to a 24V power source.

Step 6. Connect the TennaCAM 2.0 Auxiliary Camera.

  1. Connect the extension cable (STSH345) to the TennaCAM 2.0 Auxiliary Camera’s harness (attached to the back of the Auxiliary Camera).

  1. Run the other end of the extension cable (STSH345) from the TennaCAM 2.0 Auxiliary Camera’s determined installation location, through the grommet, and into the cab.
  2. Connect the extension cable (STSH345) to the DV607 Converter Box.

  1. Secure all cables and harness to ensure they are not in the way and will not be unplugged or tampered with.

TennaCAM 2.0 Auxiliary Camera is successfully installed.

If you are not installing any other optional accessories (like Side Cameras or Auxiliary Monitor), then return to the TennaCAM 2.0 instructions (steps 6 and 7) to complete the install.
