How to Create, View, Edit or Delete a Geofence or Security Perimeter (Desktop)
Geofences and Security Perimeters can be created when creating a Site or in the Geofences feature. It is required to create at least one Level 1 Geofence in order to create a Site.
Permission Requirements:
- Users with the View Geofences and Security Perimeters permission enabled are able to view the Geofences and Security Perimeters grids and maps in Tenna.
- Users with the Manage Geofences and Security Perimeters permission enabled are able to create, edit, or delete Geofences and Security Perimeters and their alerts/notifications.

How to Create a Master Geofence (Level 1)
Master Geofences (Level 1) are created when you create a Site. Please view How to Create a Site (Desktop) and How to Create a Site (App) for more details.
How to Create Sub Geofences (Level 2-6)
Sub Geofences are Geofences drawn within a “parent” Geofence. When drawn, the Sub Geofences automatically take on the level corresponding with it’s parent.
For example, a Geofence drawn within a Level 2 Geofence will automatically be a Level 3 Geofence. You may not “skip” a level by designating a new Geofence as a Level 3 when it is not within a Level 2 Geofence.

- From the Map View, click an existing Geofence.
- Click the dotted icon on the Geofence card.
- Click Create Sub Geofence.

- From the Grid View, click the dotted icon next to an existing Geofence.
- Click Create Sub Geofence.

- Name the Geofence and give a description (optional).
Note: Site cannot be changed or added, because the Site association is tied to the Level 1 Geofence.

- Draw the Sub Geofence.
Note: The level and color of the Geofence will be automatic based on the new geofence’s position in the hierarchy.

Important! The entire Sub Geofence must be contained within the parent Geofence. If any of the Sub Geofence goes outside of the parent Geofence, an error will occur.

- Click Create Geofenceto complete.
How to Create a Security Perimeter

- Click Geofences on the left-side navigation.
Then, click Security Perimeters.

- Click Create Security Perimeter on the top right of the screen.

- Name the Security Perimeter and give a description (optional).

- Draw the Security Perimeter.
- Click a shape option at the bottom of the map: Circle, Square, or Custom (to build a custom polygon)
- Use your mouse to draw the appropriate perimeter on the map.
- If you make a mistake, click Remove Security Perimeter at the bottom and start again.

Pro Tip! Click the shapes icon on the top right of the Map to show or hide existing Geofences.

- Click Create Security Perimeter to complete.
How to View a Geofence or Security Perimeter
Geofences and Security Perimeters can be viewed in a few key areas in Tenna:
Geofences Feature

- Click Geofences on the left side navigation.
Then, click the Geofences or Security Perimeters tile.

- Both Geofences and Security Perimeter pages have a Grid View or Map View.
Click the drop down on the top right of the page to switch between views.
Pro Tip! Click the pin icon next to the view you prefer to have it open by default.
- In Grid View, click the eye icon next to the Geofence or Security Perimeter you would like to view.

- In Map View, click the shape icon to open show/hide Geofences; or the badge icon to show/hide Security Perimeters. Click on a shape on the map to zoom into the Geofence or Security Perimeter.

Pro Tip! To quickly find a Geofence or Security Perimeter in the Geofences feature, utilize filters. Click the filter icon in the Grid or Map View to open available filters.

Site Details Page

- Navigate to the Site Details Page.
Click Sites on the left side navigation, then click the eye icon next to a Site.

- Click the Geofences tab.
This will open a Map View of all Geofences or Security Perimeters associated with the Site.

- Click the shape icon to show/hide Geofences; or the badge icon to show/hide Security Perimeters.

- Click on a shape on the map to zoom into the Geofence or Security Perimeter.

Master Map

- Click Maps on the left side navigation.
Then, click Master Map.

- Click the shape icon to show/hide Geofences; or the badge icon to show/hide Security Perimeters.

How to Edit or Delete a Geofence or Security Perimeter
From the Grid View of Geofences or Security Perimeters, select the dotted icon under the Actions column.

Select Edit or Delete.

From the Map View of Geofences or Security Perimeters, find and click on a Geofence or Security Perimeter.
Click the dotted icon on the card, then click Edit or Delete.
