Global Navigation (Desktop)

This resource will show you how to navigate the Tenna web platform via global navigation, which includes the left side navigation and top navigation bar. These navigation menus are available no matter where you are in the platform.

Permission Requirements: All users have the same global navigation layout, regardless of their profile, role or permission level.

Left Side Navigation Bar

The left side navigation bar lists all of the features available in your Tenna account based on your purchased licenses - both TennaCORE and any premium features your company purchased.

  • Click the "power" icon to log in out of your Tenna account.
  • Click the "pin" icon to keep the navigation bar expanded or collapsed.
  • Click "Knowledge Base" to access Tenna's Knowledge Base.
  • Click the dropdown arrow next to a feature to access the sub-nav items for that specific feature.

Top Navigation Bar

Search Settings

Select the "Search Settings" button on the top left to open the Search Settings menu. This allows you to narrow down which fields will generate search results.

The image below shows the default search settings.

Global Search Bar

Utilize the Global Search Bar to search across the platform by asset name, fleet number, category, sites, or users/contacts (as configured by the Search Settings)!

NOTE: Data visibility is controlled by Data Access Control and Permissions. Some data may not be available to your or other users based on these configurations. See Data Access Control Overview and Permissions Overview for more information.

Pro Tip! The Global Search bar is a smart search - meaning your results will auto-populate results as you type. Use at least three characters in your search to yield the best results.

Create

Select the "Create" dropdown to create a new:

  • Asset
  • Site
  • User
  • Category
  • Boundary
  • Fence
  • Geofence alert
  • Maintenance Request (premium feature)
  • Work Order (premium feature)
  • PM Service (premium feature)
  • PM Service Package (premium feature)
  • Catalog Part (premium feature)
  • Inventory Location (premium feature)
  • Request (premium feature)
  • Dispatch Delivery (premium feature)
  • Dispatch Asset Task (premium feature)
  • Dispatch Labor Task (premium feature)
  • Custom Inspection Form (premium feature)
  • Inspection (premium feature)

NOTE: The options shown are dependent on the user's permissions and the premium features purchased for your account.

Reports

Select the "Reports" dropdown to quickly access Reports available to your account. Click the individual dropdowns within to access specific reports.

You can also use the Search bar within the Reports dropdown to find a specific.

Notifications

Select the "Notifications" dropdown to view your notifications.

A red dot in the notifications dropdown signifies unread notifications.

Settings

Select "Settings" to go to the Settings page, where you can configure settings for all of the TennaCORE and premium features in your account.

NOTE: Which elements of Settings you will see and have ability to edit/configure is based on Permissions and the premium features purchased on your account.

Customizable Icons

Power Users and Tenna Admins can customize icons for the asset category types in the Settings tab.  These icons are shown for the assigned asset in Map View.
